Fresh, tasty and authentic Mexican food doesn't get much better than this! The generous portions were a pleasant surprise. The service was phenomenal! The waitress, Ely, was not only friendly and attentive but she made certain none of the food I ordered had anything to which I'm allergic. A restaurant of this quality deserves to be in a much better location. I went back a second time and tasted a large variety of samplings. So far, my favorite combination dish has a chicken enchilada with tasty sauce, delicious green chile pork, a soft taco de carne asada, perfect rice and fresh refried beans. Just writing about it makes me hungry for more.

Lunch. Lunch lunch lunch. Delicious lunch. Chips (appear to be homemade), and salsa fresca (also very tasty). Also this place is a bargain in that it's a really great place to sit down and have a low-key lunch pretty quickly. The service was very attentive and they worked with me on my gringo-Spanish. They have a great house salsa and a fantastic spicy house salsa. I had the chile verde which was the perfect portion for lunch, not too much and just enough to satiate my voracious hunger for all things Mexican. My buddies had the taco lunch, both theirs and mine were around $7 for the entree, rice and beans. I'm a cheap bastard and I love delicious food, if you're like me, and I'll bet you are, you're going to love El Paso Taco! Go Eat There Now! Also the gum-ball machine kicks ass!

Authentic Mexican food. We enjoyed wonderful homemade chips and salsa as well as tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, and chili rellenos. The staff was friendly and willing to take special requests. One of our party asked for chorizo to be added to the chili rellenos- delicious. And amazingly reasonable prices for lunch- less than $10.

This is our lunch date every Friday! The staff are the best... friendly and attentive. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty! We have been going here since our grandson was born and he will be turning 6 years old next week! Awesome authentic mexican flavor! You won't be disapointed!

Nice try but no cigar. It was authentic but it just wasn't very good. Beef was overcooked and bland. Beans and rice were average and they were the best part of the meal. Tortillas...same crap you get at Publix. After growing up in San Diego and having the best mexican food everywhere you turn, I've had to dig deep in the patience category in search of the real deal. I love S. Florida, been here over 20 years. just can't find good Mex food and this place, as high as my hopes were, just aint it!! So far, El Toro Taco in Homestead is the best I've found but damn, its a whole day down there and back. The hunt continues....

First time last night, great food and service. Ordered 2 combo plates. They are huge portions and everything was delicious and fresh. Service was great, quick with margaritas and beer and I love that every table has it's own napkin dispenser. You will need them! Super clean and cozy booths and World Cup on TV, perfect place. May become the go to for good tex mex now that aleydas is gone-

Yea! After being very disappointed by all the Mexican places near by, I turned to Yelp, found that El Paso Taco had only good reviews, and ate there tonight. I was only disappointed to find they didn't have Mich Ultra or Coors Lite. Otherwise, the carne asada was delish as was the pork carnitas my husband enjoyed. The kids meal was under $4!!! And she ate all of it!!! Very, very good. Our waitress was awesome. We will definitely be back.

Such awesome food! The chips & salsa are so addictive! You can't go wrong with pretty much anything you order. The shredded beef is so good! This place has no bad reviews at all and you will taste why immediately! Definitely recommended for real deal Mexican food. Staff are very friendly and the service is very fast too.

My favorite place in WPB for delicious, fresh Mexican food. Have been here several times and have not been disappointed. Staff is very friendly. Cafe con leche made fresh and hot, love it! The chicken flautas are very good and the guacamole is fresh and tastes great!

Yummy! Fast service. Inexpensive. I had the carnitas taco and the cow cheek taco. Both were really good. I was going to take a pic, but I ate it all before I remembered.

Dude. . the food and service rocks!!! Not much to look at from outside and not that great inside, however. . .authentic, great taste, and fresh food. The lunch specials are priced great and they don't skimp on the portion. As soon as you sit down you get homemade sals and chips (hot sauce on request) Not over the top with hot sauces and peppers, but you can add as your taste buds dare. We are regulars there, and thats saying alot.

Expectations. They really hurt this restaurant; it took me weeks to get there, all the while expecting greatness; because good Mexican food is so rare in Florida, the reviews were so good, therefore I was expecting a gem. The food wasn't bad, it was bland and lackluster. I had the combination plate with enchilada, taco, pork, rice and beans. I chose the shredded beef taco in crispy corn taco shell. This should, I thought, be a good barometer for a Mexican restaurant. The rice and beans were very good, but that was where it ended. The features on the meal should have been great. The shredded beef was dry and old. You expect beef to be well done, but at least freshly well done. None of the fried tortillas was fresh, either in the prefare basket or in the taco shell. The salsa, however, was great. Perfect spice level and appeared homemade. The enchilada was lackluster and had a taste I couldn't quite identify, other than I didn't like it. The pork wasn't stellar either. However, the portions were huge and the presentation was quite nice. Maybe it was a bad rare experience; I went around 3:30 which was neither lunch nor dinner. I hate writing bad reviews, and I especially hate writing this one; their location is convenient for me, the atmosphere is comfortable, their hours are great (especially on the weekend, though there's a night club next door that saps the parking), If only the food were five-star.

Real good authentic Mexican place. The Carnita house special is one of the best I have had in west palm. Service is quick and reliable. The surrounding area to the establishment is not the best, but the actual restaurant is ok. I'll be back.

This is my favorite taco place! They have the most amazing and authentic Spanish food in WPB. We order take out at least once a week in my office. The tacos are great and the queso dip with chips is really tasty. We will definitely be back again and again.

Authentic Mexican food full of flavor. It is very casual dining with great food and large selection of tequila on hand. The whole restaurant seats about 50 people max and the bar has room for 15 people comfortably. The wet burrito seems to be a good hit at lunch. I ordered the wet steak burrito and it came with rice, beans and pico. If I lived in the area I would most likely be a regular.

  • Kim F.

Everything is good but as far as the meats go, the Al Pastor is the best. Try the wet burrito, you can't go wrong and pair it with the best authentic margarita in town!

My daughter and I make it a point to try new, local restaurants, and this Mexican-style food did not disappoint. Sure, it's in a crummy-little plaza, but they make up for it with there generous-sized portions of amazing cuisine in a great atmosphere. Yada yada yada: typical 4-star review. Pro-tip: Get there early for either lunch or dinner as they tend to get quite packed during those times.

Never had breakfast at a mexican restaurant. I had the cherizo egg n cheese burrito it tastes great. I ate it with my salsa. Not much of a chip person so I didnt eat but two. They also had a full bar but it was too early for me to get crunk. So I would definitely recommend this spot to a friend and come back. Fast and friendly service :)

I went there this weekend. The food was ok the service was alright I was not impressed at all I asked for another drink but never came with the drink when I was getting ready to pay my tab they offer me the drink with no charge. I told them I was okay. The waitress barely come by they were a little bit busy with other customer. I'm sure they were short staffed. I ordered the carne asada and it taste like salt and eggs. I've been to other Mexican restaurant I will not go back to this again what a waste of money with my whole entire family that I took over the weekend.

This is the only place I go for chile rojo / chile colorado... It is mouth watering especially when accompanied by a tall glass of agua de piña!

This is my family's favorite Mexican restaurant in all of PBC. We have tried about 8 or 9 others, and this is our favorite. It is a little hole in the wall, kind of in a bad area of town, but the food is delicious. The salsa is awesome. The beans are delicious. I have had the chimichanga (crispy without being greasy) and the chicken fajitas, and both are delicious. My only complaint is that no matter how slow or busy this place is, the food always takes a while to come out. I never understand that. We have been here with just us in the restaurant, and it still takes nearly 30 minutes for food to arrive. Great food.

SERVICE WAS A-MAZING! its small, rundown looking first off they give u chips and salsa which were very good then we ordered a beef empanada, which was also very good I orders a chicken quesadilla (made with mozza), came with rice and beans I thought everything was good, Im a very plain person my partner ordered a chimichanga which also came with rice and beans... She wasnt too happy with it . She said it was very blan, no flavor and it was kinda soggy I still loved it, decent prices lol I would go back

This is an amazing neighborhood restaurant and we were thrilled to stumble upon it. The highlight of our two meals was the carnitas-incredible. We also shared a quesa fundido to start and I had a burrito. We finished our dinner with a delicious sopapilla. We will definitely be back!

Very bland! I was very disappointed after the reviews I have read on here. Refried beans had no seasoning and were runny. My chicken tacos were bland. The in house salsa was good but the chips were stale. Service was slow because they only had 1 or two waitresses on a Saturday night. This can not be the best Mexican PBC has to offer!

Not sure why this place does not have more reviews. We stopped there for lunch on our way back from Miami. It was awesome. The food was great and I have not seen a cleaner restaurant. The portions were large and the service prompt and friendly. The chips were fresh and the salsa was good. We ordered fajitas and they were very good. And it's right off of 95. I highly recommend it.

This place rocks!!! GREAT flavored food with awesome service. The chips and salsa are homemade and fresh, I'm sorry I could not believe one person put stale chips and bland food!?! Really??? Mexican food being bland just can not possibly be so! This food was full of flavor, fresh and delicious! I spoke to one of the daughters and they told me they have been in business for over 25 years and the whole family was there united and greeting the customers! It was a true definition of family Owned and operated with amazing food! The different cultures I saw just the couple of hours I was there displayed to me a really great restaurant that just anyone and everyone goes to. Due to the beautiful family and them mastering Mexican food with great service is the key to this restaurant. I'm spreading the word and rating this place five stars!!

Tacos are ok, food was inexpensive. I ordered the grilled chicken, al pastor and carnitas. Overall the meats were on the dry side. I was happy they had corn tortillas as an option. The highlight was the complimentary salsa that they bring along with chips.

Went here yesterday with my bf for the first time. The place was really nice even if it was not that big.It felt like you were in Mexico. Great food had some tacos (corn tortilla with pastor, lengua and tripe) and bf got a wet burrito it was awesome too! Had the sopapillas after and they were uhmaaazzing! Will definitely be back..our server was great too even after those drunk hispanic guys at 2pm was being disrespectful to her she remained calmed.

The food was on point! The waitress didn't speak any English at all but I just pointed to the menu and we communicated that way. I had the carnitas and it was great.

Don't let the location throw you off. Food and prices are amazing. My only problem is their bathrooms. Last time I was there they weren't working so hopefully they get that fixed. Other than that it's one of my favorite authentic Mexican places :)

One of my favorite hole in the wall authentic Mexican restaurants. You know it is good when you are surrounded my Mexicans chowing down!! I always grab a couple soft tacos carne asada in corn tortillas and a Jarritos soda! I am very picky about carne asada. They chop their steak small to bring out the most flavor, and there is no grissel or fat. I am also very picky about salsa. It has to be the right consistency y sabor! They have one of the top 2 salsas in West Palm Beach! If you are driving down Southern take Military North, and it is right there next to Rumbás! My two delicious tacos and soda were a grand total of $6.09! Cheaper than a food truck, and more food if you count the chips and salsa!

This place was on my growing list of local Mexican places to try in Palm Beach county. Its in a crummy plaza but ultimately its the food and service that counts. I got the carne asada burrito, a chorizo taco, a carnitas taco, and a chile rojo taco. complimentary chips and salsa were included. I tried the burrito first. I had rice and beans included in it. The flour tortilla was pressed so that it would hold together well. Came with lettuce and guac on the side. Average burrito at best, carne asada lacked flavor. The tacos kind of saved the meal though. I got them the traditional way with just onions and cilantro. They came with sliced jalepenos, diced radishes, lime and a cooked onion on the side. The chorizo and carnitas were decent but the chile rojo was excellent. Service was fine for me other than having to wait a little bit to get acknowledged when I walked in. Check took a while as there was only one waitress during dinner hours. An older couple sitting behind me started to walk out because it was taking so long for them to have their order taken. Overall, I kind of agree with the reviewer who said that this is definitely authentic Mexican, just not THAT good. The prices are very cheap though, menu is varied and they do takeout which is probably a better option than dining in.

Tried the rest and found this to be the best. Great food at a great price $1.75 per taco. C'mon , that's hard to beat. I am not Mexican, but if I was, I imagine my Mexican abuelita would cook like this; Flavorful and fresh dishes, friendly place, and always clean. There's plenty on the menu to satisfy everyone and you'll want to try it all so come hungry.

Was a little skeptical about this place because I'm used to authentic homemade Mexican food. It was a great surprise! Food was great! Best al pastor meat I've had in a while and the agua de melon was great, not to mention the waitress was super nice. Definitely a place worth checking out if you're in the area.

This cute little joint looks like it was plopped here out of Texas. It is at the back of a strip mall right off the highway and looks bigger from the outside than inside. We had a mango margarita and a red enchilada plate. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great. It was okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

I saw the reviews, and went for it. They were spot on! Being from Texas I am very particular about my Mexican/Tex-Mex. I've not had the best luck in finding good fare around here, but this is pretty close. My server was sweet and attentive and I really enjoyed each bite. Two thumbs up!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
